Obzor
Obzor is situated 65 km south of Varna, 73 km north of Bourgas and 530 km east of Sofia. It is located on the hills of the Stara Planina mountain, which descend to the sea and the Dvoinitsa River. Obzor is situated 35 km from the town of Sveti Vlas, 34 km from Sunny Beach resort, 40 km from Nessebar, 41 km from Ravda and 7 km from the town of Byala.
The city's population consists of more than 2000 inhabitants.
Obzor is the second largest town in the municipality of Nesebar, Burgas Province. The city will enchant you with its spacious beach covered with fine golden sand, whose length is more than 6 km and its width is 20-60 meters making it one of the longest beaches on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
Conveniently located at the foot of Stara Planina, Obzor is surrounded by ancient deciduous forests / oak, linden, beech, hornbeam / with oxygen-saturated air. There are has several natural attractions near the town that you can visit. Among them are the "Kamchia" and "Kamchia Sands" reserves, the Beli Nos Cape near Byala, the ruins of the "Kozjak" west of the city, protected area "Irakli", and Emine Cape, which is the most eastern part of the mountain.
North of Obzor is the town of Byala. The area is famouse for producing the highly aromatic variety wines Dimyat. Again in the north is the village of Staro Oryahovo. South of Obzor, near Cape Emine is the village of Emona, famous for being the birthplace of the Thracian king Rez - a participant in the Trojan War, who, according to Homer's "Iliad" , was killed by Odysseus and Diomedes.
The area is rich in historical monuments.
