Pomorie
Pomorie, or as it was known in ancient times - Anchialo, is a small town on the Black Sea which will enchant you with a relaxed and romantic atmosphere.
The city is known for the healing mud of the Pomorie Salt Lake and the aromatic wines produced in the area.
Founded in the IV century BC the town is located in close proximity to the Salt Lake, which the ancient Thracians considered sacred because of its healing properties.
Winemaking also has deep roots and is a traditional craft of the area along with the production of salt and fishing. In the recent years, Pomorie has become a center of attraction for year-round spa and wellness tourism.
Nature and weather conditions are favorable: 2360 hours of sunlight per year and an average temperature of air and water in July - 23,6 ° C. In the early morning, before sunrise the air is rich in ozone, negative ions, ultraviolet rays, and iodine.
The length of the beach is about 5 km and the average width is 30 m. Covered with dark sand which highly absorbes the sunlight, the Pomorie beach is perfect for faster tanning. The color of the sand is a result of the presence of larger quantities of iron and manganese. The seabed is a slight slope which makes it suitable for bathing.
The slow cooling of the sea water is the main reason for the warm and prolonged autumn. Winters are mild and rainfall is minimal.
These climatic parameters allow the use of the resort from early spring to late autumn.
