Shkorpilovtsi
Shkorpilovtsi is called "the sea kiss of Stara Planina." The resort is located 45 km from Varna and is one of those places on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast where pristine beaches and mountains merge to create an unconventional landscape that combines the harmonious sound of the sea waves and the pleasant coolness of the forest. Here is where the eastern parts of Stara Planina mountain range, covered with deciduous and coniferous forests, meet with the longest beach in Bulgaria: 12 km of fine sand reaching up to 120 m of width and dotted with beautiful dunes.
In the northern part of the resort, behind the beach, there is a unique protected area called Kamchiyski Pyasatsi (Kamchiya Sands), known for its unusual forests at the mouth of the Kamchia River. Nearby is the Longoza Nature Reserve which contains rare species of plants and animals as well as the remains of four ancient settlements.
The local population is about 770 people.
This is an ideal place for tourists who prefer the impeccable tranquility of a summer holiday close to nature, away from the hustle and bustle of large resorts and cities.
